Borussia Dortmund eyes Bazoumana Toure amid transfer war

Bazoumana Toure’s breakout season at Hoffenheim has sparked a three-way transfer battle, with Borussia Dortmund joining Liverpool and Atletico Madrid in the race for the highly rated winger.

Bild reports that Dortmund have moved into contention for the 20-year-old, who is coming off a standout 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign.

Toure finished the season with five goals and 12 assists in 30 league appearances, underlining his status as one of Germany’s most exciting young wide forwards. He also featured for Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup, where the Elephants reached the Round of 32 before being knocked out by Norway.

Toure’s journey began at Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas, where he rose through the youth ranks before earning promotion to the first team in 2022. On 1 February 2025, he completed a long-term move to Hoffenheim worth around €14 million plus €2 million in bonuses, and he wasted little time making an impact in Germany.

The winger scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 3–0 away win over St. Pauli, further boosting his reputation as a dynamic attacking threat. Hoffenheim now value him at around €40 million, setting the stage for a major summer tussle among Dortmund, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.
