Chelsea start new deal talks with Trevoh Chalobah

Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for Trevoh Chalobah this summer, with ambitious Serie A side Como among the clubs monitoring the defender’s situation.

Chalobah has spent much of his Chelsea career battling uncertainty over his future, repeatedly proving his worth whenever opportunities have come his way. Despite being an academy graduate and a dependable performer, the centre-back has often found himself facing questions over his long-term place at Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old appeared destined to leave permanently after spending the first half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Crystal Palace. However, a recall to west London handed him another chance to impress, and he responded by becoming a valuable squad member.

Since returning to Chelsea’s first-team fold, Chalobah has accumulated 71 appearances for the club, underlining both his resilience and his ability to win back the trust of successive managers.

Como keen as Fabregas plots move

According to reports from Football London, Chelsea are once again willing to consider offers for the England international during the current transfer window.

While the Blues are not actively pushing Chalobah towards the exit, club officials are understood to be open to a sale should a suitable proposal arrive. That stance has alerted potential suitors across Europe, including Como, who continue to strengthen under the guidance of former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The Italian club have been linked with a move for Chalobah as they look to add experience and quality to their defensive ranks ahead of the new season.

Valuation gap remains obstacle

Despite Como’s interest, a deal is far from straightforward. Reports indicate there remains a significant gap between the valuation placed on Chalobah by Chelsea and the amount Como are currently prepared to pay.

That difference could prove decisive in determining whether negotiations progress in the coming weeks.

For now, Chalobah’s future remains uncertain. Yet with Chelsea willing to cash in if the price is right and Como searching for another statement signing, the defender could once again find himself at the centre of one of the summer’s most intriguing transfer stories.
