Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli have won the race for the signature of highly-rated Gambian prospect Abubakar Sidi Kinteh, fending off interest from several European clubs to land one of Africa’s brightest young talents.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has been reached between all parties, paving the way for the youngster to complete a move to the Saudi club.

Kinteh is currently travelling to Lisbon with his agent, former footballer Cherno Samba, where he is expected to undergo a medical examination before the transfer is officially finalized.

Should the medical process go as planned, the Gambian youngster will put pen to paper on a five-year contract, committing his long-term future to Al-Ahli.

The move represents another significant statement from the Saudi Pro League outfit, which continues to invest heavily in both established stars and emerging talents. While much attention has been focused on the league’s recruitment of world-renowned players in recent years, clubs are increasingly targeting promising young prospects capable of developing into future stars.

For Kinteh, the transfer marks a major milestone in his career. The youngster has attracted attention for his impressive performances and potential, earning admiration from scouts across Europe. However, Al-Ahli moved decisively to secure his services ahead of rival suitors.

The Saudi club views Kinteh as a player with enormous upside and believes he can develop into an important asset in the years ahead. A five-year deal also underlines the confidence Al-Ahli have in his long-term potential.

Once the medical is completed and the necessary paperwork is finalized, an official announcement is expected, confirming Kinteh as the latest addition to Al-Ahli’s ambitious project.

The transfer will be closely followed by Gambian football fans, who will be eager to see one of their most promising young talents take the next step in his professional journey on one of football’s fastest-growing stages.
