Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC have confirmed the appointment of Moroccan tactician Hussein Ammouta as their new head coach on a two-year contract, with reports indicating a significant financial package for the former national team manager.

According to LeSiteInfo, Ammouta is set to earn around $145,000 per month in his new role, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in African club football.

He replaces Jess Thorup, who previously held the position.

In an official statement, the club confirmed Ammouta’s appointment while also announcing several structural changes within its technical and development departments as part of a broader reshuffle ahead of the new season.

Yasser Radwan has been added to the coaching staff, while Amr Anwar has been named deputy director of the club’s academy system, with Ahmed El Sayed appointed as his assistant.

At youth level, Ayman Ashraf and Moemen Zakaria have both been integrated into the setup as assistants to the head of the club’s youth sector, reflecting what the club describes as a strengthened focus on long-term development alongside first-team success.
