Moroccan football star, Sofiane Amrabat, has addressed a heartfelt message to the Moroccan fans, reflecting on the recent journey of the Atlas Lions in the Africa Cup of Nations held in Cote d’Ivoire.
Amrabat took to his personal Instagram account to express his thoughts, saying, “On the first day we embarked on this adventure, we came with one goal: to make you happy and proud.
We were eager to bring the title back to our country, something the Moroccan people truly deserve.
We left our blood and tears on the field, but destiny had different plans for us.
I want to thank the entire world, the coaches, my teammates, and the entire coaching staff who work tirelessly 24/7 for the well-being of the team.
We are one big family, taking responsibility in all circumstances.
Inshallah, we will come back stronger in 2025.”
According to Moroccan media reports, an essential meeting will take place between Walid Regragui and Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the football federation, to discuss the reasons behind the team’s failure in the African championship.
The meeting will also address an urgent plan following the presentation of a report by Regragui.
This report aims to justify the shortcomings and prepare for the upcoming phase, given the immense importance, especially with Morocco hosting the next edition of AFCON.
The country is determined to clinch the title at any cost.
The Moroccan Football Federation is expected to release a statement following the meeting, announcing the fate of the national team’s coach.
