Abdoul Fessal Tapsoba delighted by Burkina Faso return after scoring against Belarus
Burkina Faso forward Abdoul Fessal Tapsoba has spoken of his joy at returning to the national team after marking his comeback with a crucial goal during the June international window.
The 24-year-old striker played an important role in Burkina Faso’s friendly match against Belarus, coming off the bench to score a late equaliser that secured a draw for the Stallions and prevented defeat.
Tapsoba found the net in the 85th minute, capping a positive return to international action after a prolonged absence from the national setup.
His goal proved decisive and provided one of the highlights of Burkina Faso’s June fixtures.
Following the international break, the Radomiak Radom striker took to social media to reflect on his return to the national team and express his pride at once again representing his country.
“After a long time away from the colors of my beloved homeland, it is with passion, determination, and immense joy that I return to the national team.”
The statement captured the emotion of a player who has worked his way back into the Burkina Faso squad and remains determined to contribute to the team’s future ambitions.
Tapsoba first earned a call-up to the Stallions on 29 March 2021 for the match against South Sudan, which Burkina Faso won 1-0.
Since making his international debut, he has gradually established himself as part of the national team setup.
His latest appearance added to an international record that now stands at 28 caps and six goals for Burkina Faso.
Although still only 24, he has already accumulated valuable experience with the national side and remains one of the attacking options available to the coaching staff.
During the June 2026 international window, Tapsoba featured in friendly matches against Russia and Belarus.
On both occasions he started among the substitutes, but he was introduced during the games and given an opportunity to make an impact.
While he was unable to score against Russia, his contribution against Belarus proved decisive.
The late goal ensured Burkina Faso avoided defeat and allowed the striker to end the international break on a positive note.
Key moment against Belarus
The equaliser against Belarus highlighted Tapsoba’s ability to influence matches from the bench.
Entering the game during the second half, he made the most of his opportunity and delivered when his team needed him most.
His goal not only salvaged a draw but also reinforced his determination to re-establish himself within the national team following his return.
Club career continues in Poland
At club level, Tapsoba currently plays for Polish side Radomiak Radom.
He remains under contract with the club until 30 June 2027 and continues to build his career in European football.
According to Transfermarkt, the striker’s market value is estimated at €550,000.
For Tapsoba, the June international break offered more than just playing time.
It represented a successful return to the Stallions, highlighted by a crucial goal and a renewed sense of pride in wearing the colours of Burkina Faso.
As the national team looks ahead to future challenges, the forward’s contribution against Belarus serves as a reminder of the impact he can make when called upon.
