Michy Batshuayi, the talented Congolese striker playing for Standard de Liège in Belgium, has expressed his desire to take a step forward in his international career. Currently part of the Red Devils’ hopeful selections, Batshuayi is eyeing a spot in the Belgian national team under the management of Marc Wilmots.
After a standout performance in a 5-0 victory against Bruges, which included a double from Batshuayi, the striker took the opportunity to extend an invitation to Wilmots, who was present in the stands. Batshuayi commented on his goals, stating, “My two goals are magnificent. I learned to play with my body, and for the moment, it works very well. I prefer the second because there is still the desire at the last minute when we were in difficulty. I hope he saw that.”
Wilmots, considering the uncertain return of Christian Benteke to competition, is reportedly already contemplating including Batshuayi in the Belgian A team. Batshuayi’s impressive performances are catching the attention of national team selectors, and he is eager to make his mark at the international level.
