Pierre Mounguengue: Midtjylland eye PSG’s Franco-Congolese forward in €2m move

Teenage centre-forward Pierre Mounguengue of Paris SG U19 is being linked with a switch to Danish Superliga side Midtjylland, with the France-Congo striker reportedly on the radar of the Herning club as they explore a deal for the highly rated 18-year-old.

Mounguengue, valued at €2.00m on Transfermarkt, is currently part of PSG’s U19 set-up in France’s National U19 – Group A. The move is at rumour stage, with the probability of a transfer listed as “?” and no agreement yet in place between the clubs.

Born on 3 January 2008 in Évry-Courcouronnes, the 1.82m forward is a right-footed centre-forward who can lead the line in an orthodox No 9 role. He holds both French and Congolese nationality, further enhancing his appeal to clubs looking for young, dual-nationality prospects.

Mounguengue has been featuring for Paris Saint-Germain’s U19 side this season, including a recent outing in the National U19 Group A against domestic youth opposition, where PSG U19 recorded a competitive result and the teenager led the attack as a central striker. Detailed individual statistics from that match have not been formally published, but his regular involvement at that level has helped fuel interest from abroad.

With no public information on when his current PSG youth contract expires, Midtjylland are thought to be assessing whether a cut-price fee or a future free-agent scenario could make a deal more accessible, especially given the relatively modest €2.00m benchmark valuation for a forward of his age.

Mounguengue has yet to feature at senior level, but a move to Midtjylland – a club with a strong record of developing and selling on young talent – could prove a significant step. If the transfer materialises, it would offer the Franco-Congolese prospect an early platform in top-flight European football and a decisive opportunity to shape his reputation at senior level.
