Nik Gradiskar set to leave Al Ahly

Slovenian striker Nik Gradiskar has begun steps to leave Al Ahly SC during the current summer transfer window after being excluded from the club’s plans for the 2026–2027 season.

According to reports, the forward has opened talks with the club’s management in an effort to reach an amicable agreement that would allow him to secure a move elsewhere. As part of the discussions, Gradiskar is said to be pushing for a reduction in his release valuation to facilitate interest from potential suitors.

The striker spent the second half of last season on loan at a Hungarian top-flight club before returning to Cairo following the end of his loan spell. However, his future at Al Ahly now appears increasingly uncertain as he is not expected to feature in the technical plans for the upcoming campaign.

The development comes as Al Ahly continues to reshape its foreign player roster ahead of the new season, with the club already reaching its limit for non-domestic registrations. The technical staff is also reportedly keen to reinforce the attacking department with more decisive and efficient options in front of goal.

Al Ahly are now working to resolve the status of several foreign players, balancing between retaining key figures and offloading surplus names in order to free up space for new signings ahead of the next season.
