Khaled Ben Yahia set to leave MC Alger amid Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya interest

MC Alger head coach Khaled Ben Yahia could be on his way out of the Algerian champions after receiving a strong offer from Iraqi side Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, with discussions currently underway and a final decision expected soon.

The Tunisian tactician, who recently returned to MC Alger following a managerial reshuffle that saw Rulani Mokwena depart the club, is once again at the centre of coaching movement across North African and Middle Eastern football.

According to reports, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya have made an approach described as both “tempting” and “serious”, prompting ongoing talks between all parties as the Iraqi club look to strengthen their technical leadership ahead of upcoming competitions.

Ben Yahia’s situation adds another layer of uncertainty at MC Alger, where he only recently resumed duties after a previous spell in charge.

His familiarity with the squad and recent success at the club had been viewed as key stabilising factors following Mokwena’s exit.

The potential move would represent another shift in a coaching career that has frequently seen him move between clubs in Tunisia, Algeria and the wider region, including previous spells in Iraq and with MC Alger itself.

MC Alger are yet to issue an official statement on the negotiations, but the coming days are expected to be decisive as both clubs await the coach’s final decision.
