Tottenham confirm Yves Bissouma exit after contract expiry

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that midfielder Yves Bissouma will leave the club following the conclusion of his contract, bringing an end to his spell in north London.

The Mali international, who joined Spurs from Brighton in 2022, departs after spending four seasons at the club.

He arrived with high expectations after establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most dynamic midfielders at Brighton, where his performances earned him a move to Tottenham for a reported £25 million fee in 2022.

Bissouma’s time at Spurs featured a mix of strong performances and inconsistency, but his departure had been widely anticipated in recent months as his contract entered its final phase.

The midfielder saw first-team opportunities restricted last season under Thomas Frank due to disciplinary reasons, but enjoyed more exposure during Spurs’ successful battle against relegation under new manager Roberto De Zerbi.

The club’s decision marks a continued squad reshaping project as Tottenham look to refresh their midfield options ahead of the new season.

Further details on his next destination are yet to be announced.
