Kompany pushes hard for Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha

Bayern Munich has become intensely interested in Liverpool’s 17-year-old left winger Rio Ngumoha, making him a primary target for the left side of their attack.

According to David Ornstein for The Athletic, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany is pushing internally to bring the explosive young talent to the Bundesliga.

The deal, however, is shaping up to be extremely complicated. No contact has yet occurred between the two clubs, and Liverpool insist Ngumoha is not for sale. The English winger is contracted until 2028, and the Reds want to strengthen their attack rather than weaken it.

Ngumoha is already a revelation this season. After playing 560 minutes in the Premier League, he has scored 1 goal, delivered 1 assist, and averaged 2.57 shots per 90 minutes. The teenager, already called up by England, could have a real role under Andoni Iraola.

Bayern watches closely, but Liverpool keeps its doors locked.
