While the President of the Algerian Football Federation, Waleed Sadi, remains adamant about securing the services of coach Vahid Halilhodžić to succeed Djamel Belmadi at the helm of the national team, there is a recognition that waiting indefinitely is not an option.
In light of this, Sadi has devised a contingency plan, should Halilhodžić decline the offer to return to coaching the Fennecs.
The urgency to resolve the vacancy in the coaching staff is evident, and Sadi is keen on expediting the process. Consequently, he has outlined an alternative strategy to swiftly fill the void.
Among the names soon to be approached for negotiations, one stands out: coach Petković, who previously led the Swiss national team, achieving commendable results.
Additionally, the Spanish coach Lopetegui, who had close ties with the Algerian team during the presidency of Mohamed Raoura, is also on the list of potential candidates.
This proactive approach by Sadi underscores the commitment to ensuring a seamless transition in the coaching staff, showcasing the readiness to explore alternative options should the preferred candidate, Halilhodžić, decline the opportunity to guide the Greens back onto the international stage.
