The 12th edition of the African Cup of Nations tennis is currently taking place in Dakar, with 13 African national teams participating. The tournament, which runs until November 11, features competitions for senior men’s and women’s categories. This marks the first time that 13 countries are participating in the tennis CAN. The countries present include DR Congo, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Nigeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Benin, and Senegal. The event is hosted by Senegal, making it the first time a sub-Saharan African country has hosted an African Cup of Nations in tennis. The tournament includes both individual and team events for men and women, and it occurs once every two years. The budget for the competition amounts to 20 million CFA francs, with support from the African Tennis Confederation. Bonuses exceeding $350 are awarded to players/teams by bank transfer.
