Kossi Agassa has resumed the new season with the same stellar form as the previous one. The Togolese international goalkeeper has displayed impressive statistics, stopping 83.3% of opposing shots during the first five days of the championship, making him the top performer in France ahead of Steve Mandanda (82.6%). Agassa’s remarkable performance has been a crucial factor for Reims, contributing significantly to the team’s presence in Ligue 1.
Last season, Agassa played a pivotal role in securing Reims’ position in the French elite division, showcasing his goalkeeping prowess in key matches against top players like Ibrahimovic, Lisandro, and Aubameyang. Despite an occasional challenging match, such as the one against Troyes (4-2), where mistakes were made, Agassa’s overall contribution earned him a deserved contract extension.
Despite receiving inquiries from Lyon and Lille at the end of the season, Agassa chose to continue his adventure with Reims by extending his contract for one more year.
