The goals that sealed Morocco’s fate were scored by Evidence Macquoya in the 57th minute of the second half, followed by a brilliant free-kick goal from Mokiana in the 90th minute.
The match also witnessed the expulsion of Morocco’s midfielder Amrabat due to a violent intervention against a South African forward in the final minutes of the game.
With this defeat, Morocco joins the list of Arab teams that have been eliminated from the AFCON, including Egypt, Mauritania, and Algeria.
