Ghanaian trio Rahim Ibrahim, Zuberu Sharani and Kelvin Ofori win Slovakian League with Slovan Bratislava
Three Ghanaian players, Rahim Ibrahim, Zuberu Sharani and Kelvin Ofori, have enjoyed a memorable spell in Europe, with their contributions culminating in league success and further highlighting the impact of Ghanaian talent abroad.
Midfielder Rahim Ibrahim played an influential role as SK Slovan Bratislava secured the Slovak Nike Liga title with two matches remaining after edging DAC 1904 1-0. The 24-year-old started the decisive fixture and delivered a solid performance before being substituted in the 55th minute for former Dreams FC player Zuberu Sharani, who has recently switched international allegiance to Togo.
Ibrahim’s consistency throughout the campaign proved crucial to Slovan’s dominance, as he featured in 26 matches while contributing two goals and one assist in a title-winning season.
Elsewhere, Kelvin Ofori added to the celebrations in Slovenia after getting on the scoresheet in NK Olimpija Ljubljana’s commanding 3-0 victory over Primorje in the Slovenian Prva Liga. His strike marked his first goal for the club since joining on loan from Slovan in January.
The 24-year-old had earlier made 14 appearances and scored twice for the Slovak champions before making his temporary switch, and his impact in Slovenia now forms part of a broader successful campaign.
Together, the achievements of Ibrahim, Sharani and Ofori reflect another strong season for Ghanaian players in Europe, continuing a growing reputation for consistency, quality and success across leagues on the continent.
