He is an exceptional Moroccan machine – Luis Enrique hails Achraf Hakimi
Luis Enrique has lavished praise on Achraf Hakimi, describing the Paris Saint-Germain full-back as an “exceptional Moroccan machine” and a player whose impact is equivalent to three on the pitch.
Hakimi picked up an injury in the closing stages of PSG’s dramatic 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final clash. The French club later confirmed that the Moroccan international will undergo treatment for several weeks, ruling him out of the decisive return leg at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
Speaking ahead of PSG’s domestic league fixture against FC Lorient, Enrique did not hide his admiration for the 25-year-old.
“What can I say about Hakimi? He is an indispensable element under any coach, an exceptional Moroccan machine who consistently delivers a high level of performance,” he said.
He added, “His presence on the field is equivalent to having 3 players. But unfortunately, we will miss him in the second leg in Munich. Nevertheless, we are confident and happy to have very high-level alternatives.”
Enrique also highlighted the squad’s adaptability in dealing with injuries, pointing to players like Warren Zaïre-Emery and Lucas Hernández, who have stepped into unfamiliar roles when needed, including covering for Nuno Mendes.
“Titles are won with team spirit. Everyone knows Warren’s value, and I’m proud to have this type of player. Our goal is clear: to win the two remaining titles this season,” Enrique concluded.
