Morocco star Achraf Hakimi sidelined ‘a few weeks’ with hamstring injury
Morocco international Achraf Hakimi is sidelined for a few weeks following an injury setback in the Champions Leagues semifinal first leg tie against Bayer Munich.
The former Real Madrid and Inter Milan star picked up a late injury setback following a heavy collision with Konrad Laimer, but managed full time, as Paris Saint Germain cruised to a 5-4 victory over the German giants in mid-week.
Giving update on Hakimi’s injury, the French giants has disclosed the enterprising defender suffered a hamstring injury and will not be available for a few weeks, ruling him out of the return clash against Bayern Munich.
“Having suffered a right thigh injury during the match against Bayern, Hakimi will remain in treatment for the next few weeks.” Wrote the club.
The news comes as a significant blow for PSG, who are chasing UEFA Champions League glory and will now have to navigate the crucial return leg without one of their most influential attacking defenders.
Hakimi’s pace, overlapping runs, and defensive stability have been central to PSG’s tactical setup throughout the campaign.
His absence will force the Paris-based club to reshuffle their defensive structure ahead of one of the most important matches of their season. Managerial options will now be closely scrutinized as PSG look to replace his dynamism on the right flank.
For Hakimi, the injury is also a personal setback, coming at a critical stage of the season where momentum and consistency are vital. However, early indications suggest the injury is not long-term, with the player expected to begin rehabilitation immediately under PSG’s medical staff.
As the semi-final approaches, all eyes will now be on how PSG adapt without one of their key stars—and whether they can still secure a place in the Champions League final without him.
