Zamalek set for decisive Enppi clash as title race heats up
Zamalek is gearing up for a key Egyptian Premier League encounter against Enppi, as the pressure intensifies in the championship stage of the season.
The match will take place at Cairo International Stadium at 5 pm on Monday, in the fourth round of the title phase.
Zamalek enter the fixture sitting at the summit of the table with 49 points, while Enppi occupy fifth place with 35 points.
The game also carries a personal edge for Zamalek head coach Moataz Gamal, who has had mixed experiences against the petroleum club.
His first meeting with Enppi came while in charge of Al Mokawloon Al Arab during the 2023/2024 season, ending in a 2-2 draw. This season, however, he suffered a setback when Zamalek lost 1-0 to Enppi in their previous meeting.
Enppi will be aiming to repeat that earlier success, having already beaten the White Knights once this season.
Coach Hamza El-Gamal’s side are determined to maintain their positive momentum in the decisive phase of the competition.
Zamalek, meanwhile, will look to build on their recent 1-0 victory over Pyramids, secured through a goal from Juan Bezerra.
Enppi also come into the clash on the back of a 2-2 draw with Al Masry, setting the stage for a tightly contested showdown.
