Ousmane Dembele reaches 100 Ligue 1 appearances

Ousmane Dembele hits a major personal milestone tonight as he lines up for Paris Saint-Germain against Nantes in what is his 100th appearance in Ligue 1.

The French winger’s journey in the top flight began almost 11 years ago and has taken him from Rennes to Dortmund, Barcelona and back to France with PSG.

Dembele made his Ligue 1 debut on 6 November 2015, coming off the bench for Stade Rennais in a 2–0 win over Angers. Launched into the professional game by coach Philippe Montanier, he quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young attackers in Europe before earning big moves abroad.

In 2023, Dembele decided to return home, signing for Paris Saint-Germain to restart his story in Ligue 1. Tonight’s clash with Nantes marks his 74th league appearance for the club from the capital, adding to the 26 games he played for Rennes at the start of his career to reach the symbolic 100-match mark in France’s top division.

The landmark underlines how enduring Dembélé’s presence has been at the highest level, despite injuries and intense competition for places throughout his career.
