In a revelation on his program “Al-Match,” journalist Hani Hathout spoke about the existence of disputes between Khaled El-Darandaly, the head of Egypt’s national team mission in Cote d’Ivoire, and some Egyptian national team players.
Hathout stated that Khaled El-Darandaly’s statements after Egypt’s draw against Mozambique caused anger among the leaders of the Egyptian national team, namely Mohamed Salah, Ahmed Hegazi, Mohamed El Shenawy, and Mohamed El Neny.
He added that the quartet engaged in heated discussions with Khaled El-Darandaly on the morning following the Mozambique match, leading the latter to apologize for his statements afterward.
Furthermore, Mohamed Salah conveyed to Khaled El-Darandaly that his statements would be dissected by the fans and journalists, negatively impacting the morale of the Egyptian national team players in the upcoming matches.
Hani Hathout also touched upon the subject of Trezeguet’s discontent with Rui Vitoria due to being benched in favor of Omar Marmoush in the starting lineup.
He confirmed that Trezeguet expressed his frustration during a session with Vitoria, but the Portuguese coach reassured the player, explaining that the decision to not include Trezeguet in the starting lineup was purely for tactical reasons and not a reflection of the player’s performance.
