The draw for the play-offs for the Brazilian World Cup was conducted last Monday in Egypt, determining that Ghana will face the Pharaohs of Egypt. The Black Stars aim to secure qualification for the third consecutive time to the final phase. Captain Gyan Asamoah, well aware of the challenging task ahead, expressed the team’s determination.
“We must qualify at all costs. No matter who we have in front of us, we must have a strong mind to win. I am sure we will win in Kumasi and Cairo,” stated the Ghanaian striker in an interview on Happy FM.
In the previous edition, Ghana came close to reaching the semi-finals but narrowly missed out. Gyan Asamoah, the team’s captain, holds the title of being the all-time top scorer in Ghana’s football history. The upcoming play-offs will undoubtedly be a crucial test for the Black Stars as they seek a spot in the prestigious World Cup.
