Thiago Silva, the Brazilian defender for PSG, has expressed his contentment with the club in a recent interview with Le Figaro. Overcoming initial challenges, he now feels at ease in the French capital, and his perspective on the French league has evolved.
He admitted, “I thought the French championship was very weak. But my opinion has changed. My first six months here were the most difficult of my career. I discovered a very competitive competition.” Language was initially a barrier for him, but now he feels more comfortable, stating, “At the beginning, the language barrier blocked me… Things are going well since I understand French better.”
Thiago Silva has even taken on a role as a language teacher for his Brazilian teammates, helping them understand instructions from the coach. “I helped Lucas understand what Carlo Ancelotti was saying, Lucas not speaking Italian. And that’s still the case with Marquinhos this year, who doesn’t understand French very well.”
His camaraderie with Zlatan Ibrahimovic has grown strong, and Thiago Silva revealed an interesting detail about their friendship. He plans to name his third child after Ibrahimovic, saying, “Our friendship has been strengthened here… if we have a third child with my wife, I will call him Zlatan, that is if it is a boy. A little Zlatan. It would be an honor for him to know that Thiago Silva’s son is named Zlatan.” This lighthearted gesture reflects the close bond between the two players.
