CR Belouizdad target legendary Pitso Mosimane as coaching uncertainty deepens

Algerian giants CR Belouizdad are reportedly pushing to appoint experienced South African tactician Pitso Mosimane as their next head coach.

According to local media reports in North Africa, the club has identified Mosimane as their top managerial target and has already initiated contact in a bid to secure his services without delay.

Club officials are said to be convinced that the 61-year-old is the ideal candidate to lead the team forward.

Mosimane has been unattached since January 2025, following his departure from Esteghlal FC under strained circumstances linked to a reported financial disagreement.

The former Al Ahly SC and Mamelodi Sundowns boss had recently been linked with the vacant Ghana national team role after the exit of Otto Addo, after the Black Stars suffered back-to-back defeats against Austria and Germany during the March international window.

Meanwhile, uncertainty continues to surround current Belouizdad manager Sead Ramovic, who remains under temporary suspension.

Reports suggest growing frustration within the club’s hierarchy, although a costly compensation package is believed to be delaying any decisive action.

Despite guiding the team to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup—where they are set to face Zamalek SC—Belouizdad are reportedly keen to make a change in the dugout as they seek long-term stability.
