Hamza Abdelkarim injury not serious, Barca Athletic confirms
Pau Campaña, media officer for Barça Atlètic, has played down concerns over the fitness of Hamza Abdelkarim after the young forward missed the team’s latest outing.
The Egyptian youngster was absent as Barça Atlètic cruised to a dominant 5-1 victory over Buriras, prompting questions about his availability. However, Campaña assured that the situation is under control.
“Hamza Abdelkarim is suffering from a minor muscle injury, and there is no cause for concern,” he told Lila Kora.
He added that the issue is not serious and the 18-year-old is expected to return to full training and competitive action soon.
Abdelkarim joined Barça Atlètic on loan in February for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season, with an option to make the move permanent under previously agreed terms.
Despite his brief spell, the promising striker has already attracted positive attention through his performances with the reserve side and in youth matches, earning praise from his coach on multiple occasions.
The Egyptian forward remains under contract with Al Ahly SC until 2028.
