Sami Trabelsi, former coach of the Tunisian national football team, has expressed his opinion on the selection of a coach for the Carthage Eagles ahead of the 2014 World Cup play-offs against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. Trabelsi emphasized the importance of appointing a Tunisian coach, stating that they would be closer to the players and have a better understanding of the team. He dismissed the idea of Ruud Krol, a Dutch coach, and suggested that Tunisian coaches like Kebaier, Ben Yahia, and Kanzari were capable of leading the national team, with a preference for Kebaier. Trabelsi also denied being contacted by the Tunisian Football Federation for a return to coaching.
