The image of the day at the opening of the 8th edition of the Francophonie Games in Nice was when the President of France, François Hollande, encountered an Ivorian flag that appeared to obstruct his passage. Despite this, Hollande continued to greet the various delegations that had gathered for the ceremonies. It’s unclear whether the standard bearer unintentionally obstructed the President’s path or if he leaned toward Hollande to accept a handshake.
