The national team, however, currently lacks a coach, and there are increasing indications that Ruud Krol could be appointed to take charge.
The new coach, whoever it may be, will have to navigate the play-offs without the services of four key players: the suspended attacking duo Fakhreddine Ben Youssef and Saber Khelifa, along with defenders Aymen Abdennour and Karim Haggui.
Tunisia finds itself seeded in Hat 1 alongside Ivory Coast, Ghana, Algeria, and Nigeria, while Egypt, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Senegal, and Ethiopia are placed in Hat 2. The draw for this crucial last round is scheduled for September 16 in Cairo at 10 a.m. GMT.
