Wydad Athletic Club prepare coaching change as Mohamed Amine Benhachem exit looms

Wydad AC head coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem has opened up about his future at the Moroccan club following the club’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals at the hands of Olympique de Safi.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, Benhachem made it clear that any decision regarding his departure will depend on mutual agreement between himself and the club’s management, leaving the situation unresolved for now.

Uncertainty continues to surround the dugout at Wydad, with the club expected to take decisive steps in the coming days.

The team’s official spokesperson, Talal, confirmed that a crucial meeting has been scheduled for Monday to determine the next course of action regarding the coaching position.

He added, “If the name of the new coach is to be announced tomorrow, then contact with him took place ten days ago.”

The developments signal a potentially imminent change at the helm as Wydad look to respond swiftly after their disappointing continental exit.

Meanwhile, USM Alger, OC Safi, Zamalek and CR Belouizdad have secured their places in the semi-finals of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
