Former Anzhi Makhachkala striker Samuel Eto’o, recently signed by Chelsea, had previously not held a favorable opinion of Jose Mourinho. The Cameroonian, who recently announced his international retirement, even expressed a desire not to play under the guidance of the Portuguese coach.
“Before joining Inter, our relationship was a bit tense. I think I even said at one point that I could never play for a club where José was the coach,” revealed Eto’o, as reported by The Sun and cited by 10 Sport.
However, Eto’o was quick to emphasize that those sentiments belong to the past: “But God wanted to show me that I was wrong, and today, José is a friend and once again my coach.” It seems that their relationship has evolved positively over time.
