Serhou Guirassy sparks Dortmund comeback in dramatic win
Borussia Dortmund came from two goals down to defeat Hamburger SV 3-2, with Serhou Guirassy playing a decisive role after coming off the bench to revive his side’s fortunes.
Dortmund found themselves in early trouble, conceding twice and struggling to impose themselves on the game. The visitors’ advantage left the hosts chasing the match, forcing a shift in approach as they sought a way back into the contest.
The turning point arrived with the introduction of Serhou Guirassy. Entering the match as a substitute, the forward immediately altered the tempo, offering a more direct attacking threat and placing sustained pressure on the opposition defence.
His impact was felt in the 78th minute when he scored to bring Dortmund level at 2-2. The goal, his 13th in the league this season, marked a crucial moment in the comeback and shifted momentum firmly in favour of the home side.
Energised by the equaliser, Dortmund continued to push forward in the closing stages. Their persistence was rewarded when Ramy Bensebaini found the decisive goal, completing the turnaround and securing a 3-2 victory.
The late winner capped a remarkable recovery for Dortmund, who had appeared in danger of defeat after their difficult start. Instead, they capitalised on renewed attacking intensity to overturn the deficit and claim all three points.
Guirassy’s contribution proved central to the result, with his introduction providing the spark that had been missing earlier in the match. His performance underlined his importance to the team, particularly in high-pressure situations.
Following his club display, the striker is set to join up with the Guinea national football team during the upcoming international break. According to reports, the squad will gather in Morocco for two friendly matches.
The schedule includes a meeting with Togo national football team on March 27, followed by a match against Benin national football team on March 31, as preparations continue for future competitions.
