Ousmane Dembele: ‘No reason’ to leave PSG despite contract talks

Ousmane Dembele has dismissed speculation over a possible exit from Paris Saint-Germain, insisting there is “no reason” for him to leave the French capital despite ongoing contract discussions.

The 28-year-old forward has endured a difficult season with injury interruptions that have limited his playing time.

Yet when fit, Dembele has shown his quality, netting 14 goals and registering eight assists across 31 appearances, proving himself an important component in Luis Enrique’s plans.

Despite his influence on the pitch, reports from France suggest that talks over a contract extension have not progressed smoothly, raising questions about his future at the Parc des Princes.

Speaking to reporters ahead of PSG’s Champions League clash against Chelsea, Dembele addressed the ongoing speculation, making it clear he wants to stay but acknowledged that the ultimate decision rests elsewhere.

“There is no reason not to extend,” he said. “But it is not me who makes the decisions. The discussions around my contract are between my agent and the club. I haven’t managed that since the very start of my career.”

Dembele’s comments underline his commitment to PSG and his desire to continue contributing to the team, even as external discussions unfold. With his pace, creativity, and goal threat, the forward remains a valuable asset as PSG navigate a crucial stretch of both domestic and European competitions.
