Orlando Pirates defender Nkosikhona Ndaba opens up on league title chase
Orlando Pirates defender Nkosikhona Ndaba insists his outfit are fully committed to chasing the Premiership title this season, leaving no room for ambiguity about the ambitions of the Sea Robbers.
Speaking ahead of their PSL match against Siwelele FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday, Ndaba emphasized that every game is vital in their quest for league glory.
“All games that we play are very important. We have to take three points because we are chasing the league,” Ndaba told Orlando Pirates TV.
Orlando Pirates currently sit atop the PSL standings, tied on 47 points with second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns but holding the advantage on goal difference. While the club has previously been modest about openly declaring their title ambitions, Ndaba’s comments leave no doubt about their focus.
He added that the Sea Robbers have thoroughly analysed their opponents, identifying their strengths and areas of threat. “They are good in marking, they are good in transition, and they know how to press,” Ndaba noted, highlighting the tactical awareness his team will need to succeed.
Reflecting on previous challenges, the coach admitted that some matches were far from easy. “It was a very difficult game. It wasn’t easy at all. We needed plenty of goals but we were unable to score them. We will get chances, all we need to do is convert the chances,” he explained.
Looking ahead to tomorrow’s fixture, Ndaba stressed that the Sea Robbers are determined to continue their dominant run and extend their lead atop the table. Victory over Siwelele FC would not only maintain their position but also send a strong message to title rivals that Orlando Pirates are serious contenders for the championship.
With confidence high and focus sharp, Ndaba and his squad are aiming to turn their superior performances into results, keeping their eyes firmly on the ultimate prize: the Betway Premiership trophy.
