"I’ve never felt pressure like that” - Bryan Mbeumo on facing Morocco at AFCON 2025

Bryan Mbeumo has opened up about the intense atmosphere surrounding Cameroon’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash against the Morocco national football team, describing it as the most pressure he has ever experienced in his career.

The Manchester United F.C. player shared details of the match played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, admitting that the environment created by the Moroccan supporters made the encounter particularly demanding.

According to Mbuemo, the intensity inside the stadium was unlike anything he had previously faced during his professional career.

The Cameroonian forward explained that the atmosphere became even more challenging as the match progressed.

He noted that the first half featured fewer whistles from the crowd, but the situation changed significantly after the break, with the second half bringing much stronger reactions from the supporters.

Mbeumo also revealed that he encountered unusual moments both before and during the match, experiences he said were completely new to him despite his years in football.

Despite the pressure on the pitch, the Cameroonian star praised the host nation for the way the tournament was organised.

He highlighted the quality of the arrangements put in place by Morocco and also commended the impressive setting of the stadium that hosted the decisive stages of the Africa Cup of Nations.

He described the overall organisation by the Kingdom of Morocco as outstanding, while also noting the beauty and scale of the stadium that staged the tournament’s final fixtures.
