Fabrizio Romano cools talk of Manchester City move for Ousmane Dembele
Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has moved to calm rumours linking Ousmane Dembele with a summer move to Manchester City from Paris Saint-Germain.
Reports this week suggested Dembele’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, recently met City’s sporting director Hugo Viana, sparking talk of early negotiations ahead of the next transfer window.
According to Romano, however, that meeting should not be viewed as the start of concrete transfer talks. He claims there is currently no genuine transfer motive behind the discussions, hinting that the contact was more routine than dramatic. That will come as a reality check for fans already imagining Dembele lining up in Pep Guardiola’s attack.
Dembele’s situation at PSG also suggests a move is far from straightforward. His current deal runs until 2028, and the French champions are reportedly working to secure him on an even longer contract.
With PSG intent on keeping the winger and City yet to make a real push, this story feels more like early noise than an imminent blockbuster transfer.
