Liverpool considering including Dutch-Togolese forward Cody Gakpo in swap deal to sign Michael Olise
Liverpool FC are reportedly exploring a creative option to strengthen their midfield by signing attacking midfielder Michael Olise from Bayern Munich.
According to British outlet TEAMtalk, the Premier League side are considering including Dutch-Togolese forward Cody Gakpo in a potential swap deal to reduce the overall transfer fee for Olise.
However, from Bayern Munich’s perspective, such an arrangement appears highly unlikely. Olise is regarded as a key figure in the German club’s long-term plans, and the club has repeatedly stressed that he is not for sale.
Additionally, there have been no indications from Olise suggesting any willingness to leave the Bavarian giants.
Meanwhile, Bayern no longer appear interested in Gakpo. Although the Dutchman was previously linked with a move to Munich last year, the German side reportedly have no concrete intentions to pursue him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
This leaves Liverpool with a complex negotiation ahead if they hope to secure Olise while potentially leveraging Gakpo as part of the deal.
