Vinicius Jr proud after hard fought Real Madrid win over Celta Vigo

Vinicius Jr reflected on Real Madrid’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Celta Vigo, describing just how demanding the night was for a depleted squad.

With several key players missing, the Brazilian admitted the team had to dig deep to come away with all three points, sealed by Federico Valverde’s late winner.

“It was a very tough match where we were missing many players, but we came here to win. We worked hard, we suffered a lot, and in the end, we managed to win, which was the most important thing to build confidence ahead of Wednesday’s match,” Vini said.

He made sure to praise the youngsters and squad players who stepped in, saying they knew the game would be difficult with so many injuries and suspensions.

Vini also highlighted how meaningful the result was on the club’s anniversary, calling it a special gift for the fans. “I prefer winning the matches earlier when things are simpler, but it’s always good to win, especially with a goal at the end,” he added, singling out Valverde as a teammate who “is always there for us” and gives everything for the team.
