Assistant coach of Al Mokawloon Al Arab SC has apologized to Al Ahly fans for his actions during the highly competitive clash on Thursday night.

The match, played at Osman Ahmed Osman Stadium, ended in a 3–1 victory for Al Ahly in Round 21 of the league. The result lifted the Red Devils to 40 points, placing them third in the standings level on points with Pyramids FC and Zamalek SC.

However, the game was overshadowed by controversy after Islam Fathi’s verbal altercation with Al Ahly fans inside the stadium. During the heated moment, the assistant coach reportedly directed offensive remarks toward supporters, sparking anger among fans and creating tension in the stands.

Those present around the technical area and stadium officials quickly intervened to calm the situation and prevent further escalation as emotions ran high during the match.

Following the incident, Islam Fathi issued an official apology through a statement released by Al Mokawloon Al Arab. In the statement, he expressed regret over his behavior and stressed that he did not intend to insult the supporters.

The coach explained that his reaction came in a moment of frustration amid the intense pressure of the club’s battle to avoid relegation in the league.

Fathi also pledged that such behavior would not be repeated in the future, while expressing his respect for Al Ahly’s passionate fan base and for all clubs competing in the Egyptian league.

Meanwhile, Al Mokawloon Al Arab confirmed that the club’s management had reviewed the incident and would take the necessary disciplinary steps to ensure that members of the coaching staff maintain professional conduct and respect toward both fans and opponents.
