Fabrice Fiorèse, the former PSG and OM player, has recounted the horrifying experience of being robbed and kidnapped a year ago in the form of a novel in France Football. Here are some excerpts from his harrowing experience:
“I thought about dying, that’s for sure. I thought these were going to be the last hours of my life. These are things I wouldn’t wish on anyone, not even my worst enemy. No one has the right to go through what I went through.”
“I see a dark Golf that fits right into my yard. At first, I said to myself: ‘These are my friends playing a joke on me.’ But when I saw three men in balaclavas running out, one holding a shotgun and pointing it at me and another pulling my hair out and pushing me out of the Range Rover, I understood that it wasn’t at all friends of mine who were playing a joke on me, but that they were really crazy people!”
“I tried to escape and had a clump of hair ripped out.”
“Cut off his finger, cut off his finger!”
“A guy started to squeeze me with a knife at the level of the carotid artery. It was starting to bleed. That’s when they put the shotgun to my head and then to my kneecap. ‘Shoot,’ another told him. When you hear the click of the shotgun, in a split second, you tell yourself that it’s over for you.”
