Black Queens hammer Russia 4-0 to climb top of Pink Ladies Cup table

Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, delivered a dominant display to secure a 4-0 victory over Russia women’s national football team on matchday two of the Pink Ladies Cup.

The Black Queens wasted no time asserting their authority, taking the lead in the eighth minute through Stella Nyamekye, who finished calmly to give Ghana an early advantage. The strong start set the tone for what would become a one-sided contest.

Doris Boaduwaa extended the lead in the 17th minute following a slick attacking move, before striking again in the 33rd minute to complete her brace. Her clinical finishing ensured Ghana headed into halftime with a commanding 3-0 cushion.

Russia attempted to mount a response after the break but found it difficult to penetrate Ghana’s disciplined defensive setup. The Black Queens remained compact at the back while continuing to threaten on the counterattack.

The emphatic win was sealed late in the game when Patience Ajegipena Zakaria found the net in the 88th minute, adding a fourth goal to cap an impressive team performance.

The victory sends Ghana to the top of the standings with two wins from two matches. They will wrap up their campaign against Tanzania women’s national football team on Friday, March 6, 2026, as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
