Algeria’s Ilan Kebbal crowned top Arab performer in Europe’s elite leagues

Algeria international Ilan Kebbal has been recognised as the highest-rated Arab player across Europe’s five major leagues this season, according to leading football statistics platform SofaScore, underlining his growing influence on the continental stage.

The 27-year-old winger, currently plying his trade with Paris FC, earned the distinction based on his cumulative performance rating since the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

SofaScore’s data places Kebbal at the summit among Arab players competing in the English Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1, with an impressive average score of 7.53 out of 10.

Beyond regional recognition, Kebbal’s numbers also carry continental weight. He is ranked as the second-best African player across Europe’s top five divisions this term and the second-highest rated performer in France’s top flight.

Such metrics reflect a season defined by consistency, creativity and decisive attacking contributions.

Operating primarily from wide areas, Kebbal has been directly involved in 12 league goals, scoring eight and providing four assists in 22 appearances in Ligue 1.

His blend of direct running, technical control and end product has made him Paris FC’s most reliable attacking outlet in what has otherwise been a turbulent domestic campaign.

Despite his individual brilliance, Paris FC find themselves languishing in 15th place, prompting managerial change midway through the season.

The club parted company with Stéphane Gilli and appointed Antoine Kombouaré in a bid to stabilise results and avoid a deeper slide down the table.
