Brahim Diaz reportedly converts to Islam

Real Madrid star and Moroccan international Brahim Diaz is reported to have converted to Islam, according to sources close to the player.

The news surfaced after Diaz attended a Ramadan iftar at Madrid’s Islamic Cultural Centre, Malaga, with a family of Moroccan heritage through his father, Sufiel Abdelkader Diaz. Brahim had largely been identified as Christian by upbringing, and his religious views were not publicly discussed for most of his career.

Recent reports, however, suggest that he has formally embraced Islam. Imam Adil Hachmi confirmed that Diaz prayed with him at the mosque, lending credibility to the reports.

The timing of the conversion has attracted attention due to Diaz’s growing embrace of his Moroccan roots, particularly after choosing to represent Morocco at the international level.

While neither Diaz nor his representatives have issued an official statement, his attendance at the iftar and confirmation by the imam have been widely interpreted as a public affirmation of his faith.

The development has been warmly received by many Moroccan fans, who view it as a further sign of Diaz’s connection to his heritage and his relationship with the diaspora.

On the field, Diaz continues to make an impact at Real Madrid, where his recent public appearances have drawn notice both for his performances and for these personal and cultural gestures.
