Seidu Bancey, Kwabena Adusei, and Yahaya Mohammed scored for Kotoko in the match, which was held at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. This win marks the second consecutive year that Kotoko has claimed the Ghana Super Cup. The match served as the kickoff for the new Glo Premier League season, which was set to begin the following weekend.
