Carlos Valderrama, the famous midfielder of the 1990s and former Colombian football star known for his iconic blond mane, recently dyed his hair pink for a good cause. Valderrama participated in a cancer awareness parade on Sunday in the streets of Bogota, organized by an association dedicated to the fight against cancer.
During the event, Valderrama, affectionately known as “El Pibe,” wore a pink t-shirt and dyed his hair pink in a show of support for the cause. The former Montpellier and Real Valladolid player, who played in three World Cups with Colombia, expressed his commitment to raising awareness about cancer prevention. Valderrama emphasized the importance of self-examination and regular medical checks, stating, “It’s a terrible disease, but it can be prevented if women and men commit to always doing a self-examination and medical checks. It’s a game that we can win.” He shared a personal connection to the cause, as his sister and several relatives have experienced breast cancer.
