Cameroonian striker Vincent Aboubakar delivered a masterclass performance on Saturday, scoring twice for Neftci Baku in their comeback stalemate against Shamakhi FK in the Azerbaijani Premier League.

Aboubakar opened the scoring in the 60th minute, breaking the deadlock with his trademark power and composure in the box. After a tense period of play, he doubled Neftçi Baku’s advantage in the 91st minute, seemingly sealing all three points for the visitors.

However, the celebrations were short-lived. Shamakhi struck in stoppage time to snatch a late equaliser, denying Aboubakar and his teammates a victory on the road. Despite the disappointment, the Cameroonian forward’s display underlined his growing influence in the Azerbaijani Premier League.

Since joining Neftçi Baku, Aboubakar has made an immediate impact, netting six goals in 12 appearances. His blend of strength, clinical finishing, and experience continues to bolster his team’s attacking options, even as the club searches for greater consistency.

While Neftçi Baku may rue dropping points at the final whistle, Aboubakar’s individual brilliance provides optimism for the remainder of the season, with the striker proving once again why he remains one of Africa’s most formidable forwards.
