Morocco to play Burkina Fason in two pre-WAFCON friendly games

Morocco’s women’s national team is set to play two international friendlies against Burkina Faso on Friday, February 27, and Tuesday, March 3, in preparation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Both matches will take place at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation confirmed.

The fixtures form part of the Atlas Lionesses’ final preparations ahead of the continental tournament, which Morocco will host from March 17 to April 3.

Head coach Jorge Vilda recently led a training camp at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora, bringing together an extended squad to refine tactics and test player combinations ahead of WAFCON.

The friendly double-header provides a vital opportunity for Morocco to gain competitive match rhythm, solidify their starting lineup, and enhance team cohesion before the tournament kicks off. Burkina Faso’s women’s team has also been conducting a preparation camp in Morocco, using the matches as part of their own build-up.

In the upcoming WAFCON, Morocco will face Kenya, Algeria, and Senegal in Group A.
