Jean-Philippe Mateta reportedly offered to Fenerbahce amid uncertain future at Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is optimistic that Jean-Philippe Mateta will feature again before the end of the season, despite the striker’s recent knee injury setback.

The French forward has been out since the problem emerged during talks over a possible move to AC Milan, a transfer that ultimately collapsed because of the issue.

Mateta’s absence has been felt in Palace’s attack, but Glasner made it clear he still expects his No. 9 to return to action once his rehabilitation progresses as planned. Asked if Mateta would play again this campaign, the manager replied: “I hope so, that’s the plan. He’s working hard on his rehab.”

With Palace pushing to make the most of their Europa Conference League campaign and secure a strong Premier League finish, getting Mateta back on the pitch could be a significant boost.

The 28-year-old is now into the final 18 months of his current contract, adding an extra layer of importance to his recovery and future at Selhurst Park.
