Patrick Dorgu set his sights on March return for Manchester United
Manchester United have received encouraging news on Patrick Dorgu’s hamstring injury, with Denmark manager Brian Riemer confident the 21-year-old could return for the March international break.
Dorgu has been sidelined since picking up the knock during United’s thrilling 3-2 Premier League victory over Arsenal in January.
Under Michael Carrick, the versatile talent has shone brightly, netting in that Emirates triumph and also in the 2-0 derby win against Manchester City.
Speaking to reporters, Riemer shared his optimism about Dorgu’s recovery timeline, despite the club initially reporting him out until April. He said: “Right now, he is reported injured by Manchester United, and he is until April.”
“I know that Patrick has a dream of being ready. I think his biggest motivation right now, when he is running around in that training room, is that he wants to battle everyone and then be ready for that match.” Riemer added: “I’ll only help him keep that dream alive as long as the opportunity exists.”
This potential comeback could prove massive for United’s push and Denmark’s World Cup play-off against North Macedonia on March 26.
