Marcelo has once again faced a setback while playing for the Seleção. The left-back for Real Madrid sustained an injury during Brazil’s impressive friendly victory against Australia on Saturday (6-0, view goals in the video).
Having previously experienced a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his foot last season while with the national team, Marcelo had to be stretchered off the field during the match against Australia. This time, he is dealing with a muscle injury in his left thigh. Unfortunately, this injury rules him out for Brazil’s upcoming friendly against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal on Tuesday.
In response to the injury, Marcelo has returned to Spain to undergo treatment and recovery for his latest setback.
